How to Make DIY Face Mask

Even though they do not have symptoms of Covid-19, people need to wear a face mask so that they can protect the people around them. This is more crucial in places where social distancing is hard to follow such as supermarkets and public transportation. Continue reading to learn how to make a face mask at home.

What You Need:

  • A bandana or scarf
  • 2 hair ties or elastic bands
  • Optional: paper towel, kitchen roll, or a coffee filter

This is the easiest way to make a DIY face mask since it mostly involves folding your bandana or scarf. You need to make sure that you have the right bandana or scarf. If not, your mask will not provide enough protection or will cause difficulty in breathing. Make sure that your bandana or scarf is not too thin. You can hold it up to see how thin it is. A material with 100% cotton is recommended for making your face mask.

You fold your bandana or scarf in half and fold it twice again lengthwise from the top and the bottom. If you want, you can put a paper towel, kitchen roll, or a coffee filter on the mask. You can regularly change this. After, you place the hair ties or elastic bands around the strip and fold it towards the center. If possible, tuck the ends into each other.
